Project Manager, Northern California
As we continue to expand our portfolio of exciting projects in Northern California, we’re seeking passionate Project Managers to join a growing team that delivers exceptional outcomes for our clients. The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in managing public and private real estate development and capital portfolio projects and have comprehensive knowledge of the real estate development lifecycle, approval processes, and regulations. The Project Manager will build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the central point of contact for both internal stakeholders and external partners. You will lead efforts to streamline communication, drive strategic decision-making, and optimize the performance of the client’s real estate assets. Project Manager responsibilities may include: • Lead and manage all phases of complex projects, including planning, design, construction, and close-out, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and schedule. • Oversee stakeholder engagement, needs assessment, business case development, and entitlement management to define project goals and objectives. • Take the lead in the preparation of the project execution plan, meetings, presentations, and project kick-off activities, ensuring alignment with client needs and company goals. • Manage the design and construction phases of projects, ensuring coordination with design teams, adherence to approved program and budget, and compliance with agency approvals. • Provide high-level construction coordination and administration, overseeing meetings, progress reporting, RFI/submittals, cost control, schedule management, and FF&E coordination. • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, city officials, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project. • Manage all aspects of project administration, including resource allocation, contract management, financial forecasting, cost control, invoicing, issue resolution, and strategic decision-making. • Motivate and mentor project teams, maintaining clear and effective communication within the team and with clients, while ensuring project milestones are achieved. • Continuously monitor project budgets and schedules, providing comprehensive financial and schedule analysis, reviewing potential changes, and proactively offering solutions to keep projects on track. • Oversee the project close-out process to ensure all deliverables are met, final documentation is completed, and projects are successfully closed out. • Drive business development efforts, including leading RFQ/RFP responses, proposal development, presentations, interviews, and contract negotiations. Ensure a seamless transition from business development to project execution. • Representing the company at industry events, networking opportunities, and conferences, strengthening brand presence and expanding business development opportunities. Qualifications: • Minimum of 4 years of directly related experience in an engineering or construction project accountability role. • Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, business, or related field. • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or LEED AP is desired. • Experience in the Northern California market, having strong relationships with clients, design firms, general contractors, and stakeholders • Knowledge of the real estate development lifecycle, approval processes, and regulations, from programming, entitlement and design through construction and operations. • Highly motivated, ambitious and demonstrated business acumen, with a track record of exceeding targets. Expert at building relationships and earning trust. • Detail-oriented and analytical, excellent communication skills, strong organization and time management skills, and ability to operate independently. • Advanced MS Office computer skills (Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint). • Familiar with project management tools and systems such as ProCore, P6 and BlueBeam. • Ability to travel as required to project locations, meet with clients, and attend industry events. • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
